Assetto Corsa EVO

Assetto Corsa EVO

Will the game have damage physics?
So, was wondering if the game will have damage physics. Thinking mostly then visual, like parts falling of, cars deforming, punctures etc...

Yeah... I didn't see any mention of that.... If it's not already baked in, it probably won't be all that great for a while when it gets here...

Hope there will be decent visual damage, i expect mechanical damage at least. Will be a bit disappointed if not much visual damage, would make it much more immersive for sure.

Improvements in mechanical damage yes, in terms of visual damage unfortunately not thanks to the car brands that have become more aggressive regarding that.

it would be a shame if no damage model but not a deal breaker, AMS2 damage is pretty good now with bits falling off

Yes, and it's more likely that the licensing agreements are different between different developers idk...

I'm just saying what they've said from Kunos regarding that.

Soy car brands think their cars never get crushed in real life

Not sure about that since Forza Motorsport has had damage physics from the first game till the most recent. GT7 even has light cosmetic damage. I expect it to be similar to GT7. Minor dents/scratches and cracked head/taillight lenses.

Seeing racing games past 10-20 years, seems they know their cars never would get crushed by physics irl hehe. This could also be in the developers hands but probably just the brands limiting this.

Car manufacturers should cease this opportunity to work with the game developers to demonstrate the durability of their vehicles in extreme crashes. To showcase how safe the vehicles are.

"Assetto Corsa EVO features engaging audio realism, with the highest quality base sounds for engine, tire feedback, chassis vibrations, and accessories like wipers, ignition, and indicators. Grounding sounds like turbo whines, compressors, exhaust pops, and realistic collision effects elevate the experience, with different surfaces sounds, tire punctures and damage finely tuned for added realism. The dynamic soundscape adapts to time of day and location, offering distinct audio for cityscapes, forests, or racetracks, enhancing immersion and making every environment feel alive." Thats what the official homepage says. So at least we get punctures and some sort of physical damage model i think.

Remember that the game is still early access, i mean, it wont even be half the final product.
I believe it will have car visual and mechanic damage of course, it would be a disappointment to not include it, regardless if brands want their cars look good or bad with damage.

A totaled lambo is the same as a totaled lada

A lot can change from a early build to release build, but certain things might not change i'd say. Would be shame with lack of visual damage, but another person did quote statement kunos made
