Accelerant usage.
Does it really take a whole bottle to light a fire. Think about it...if you put that much accelerant on a pile of kindling and put a match to it, you wouldn't have any eyebrows for couple weeks. I think it should be used maybe 3-4 times per bottle and then lower loot spawning rates for them or keep the spawn rates but give a random amount in the bottle. Every bottle doesn't need to be brand new and full besides the chances of finding a unopen bottle would be slim.

Or you could just assume you are finding lighter fluid cans which are nearly empty and have very little fluid left in them.

Well, I sthink there's only 0.1 liters in them, right?
That's like a cup of fuel, not that much, honestly.

That said, you only really use accelerant the first few times, until you get the fire starting skill up. Once you get the skill up, the need for accelerant goes down a lot. Firestriker + tinder Plug + Cedar wood = high chance of fire, even in bad weather.

On a sidenote, it would be neat if you could make some Fire Starters to use as an accelerant.
I'm thinking of something like Cotton Balls with Petroleum Jelly massaged into them.
Vaseline works too, and both Cotton Balls and Vaseline is common enough household items, that they could be left behind by the previous inhabitants.

Here's a video that shows the use of Cotton Balls with Petroleum Jelly :

Pretty neat, eh ? :)

People use accelerant?

Early on, sure. Makes for a quick easy fire start, and there is no use for it later once your fire starting skill has improved.

I just wish you could use accelerant as an alternative to kerosine to make torches. I never really need it for making a fire indoors, it would be great to have another use for the 10+ bottles I have laying around.

Torches aren't really an issue, though ... start Fire - Take Torch from Fire - extinguish Torch = unlimited supply of Torches ...

I didn't realise you could extinguish the torch :steamfacepalm: and I'm off fires at the moment - on TWO great, long-lasting (in my game time lol) games, I've burned to death!!! Think I was adding too much too quickly...?
