awesome idea. There can be a salt mine where you can mine it, and maybe random boxes of it around.you could cure fish without cooking. You should be required to craft a curing station to hang meat on too.

Good idea , neo scavenger did have this setting too , but a little different . In neo scavenger , player have to set a campfire first , when it slake , you will get a handful of ashes . Then you can use the ashes to cure meat while cooking .

Yes, many people already suggested to add some kind of meat preservation (including myself), and salt would be the ideal way to do this without making it too easy for the player.

Salt could be a good addition, with craftable smoking racks for more renewable preservation later on in the game.

I might be saying something stupid but why not just make a hole in the ice of desolation point (there is a boat, i'm assuming it's the sea) and just boil some sea water?
