Rustic Storage Trunk Disappearing

After crafting the Rustic Storage Trunk, it vanishes from my inventory.

This also just happened to me. I crafted it all in one go and didn't even get it, just deleted my 9 fir :(

I've experienced this issue just now, but with the Rustic End Table. :')

*Edit: and the Rustic Storage Trunk, the Coffee Table, and the Rustic Chair. This is all in Mountaineer's Hut. The header in the upper right corner announcing 'CRAFTED: (item)' appears, but there's nothing in the inventory. I did manage to construct the Furniture Work Bench and Rustic Stool successfully; not enough daylight or energy to test anything larger at the moment.

Wait I was wrong..

I was watching this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FNKLS5WWk8s

And he mentioned that after crafting something it goes "into the container of the furniture workbench" and not your inventory. I looked at the workbench and sure enough there's a "container" button that had my rustic trunk. Maybe it's the same for you guys

Sigh...now it's disappeared after deploying it, going outside and coming back. what a roller coaster, a wooden trunk roller coaster

I had experienced a similar issue. I crafted a Rustic Storage Chest to completion, which finished in the dark (6 hours to make), and the item disappeared along with all 9 pieces of Fir wood.

The Hinterland Forum had the answer:
1. Go back to the Furniture Workbench and select it
2. In the bottom right corner select the "Containers" button
3. You should see the item in the inventory
4. Select it and press "Deploy"
5. Place your item
