Failed to load error 7

Hey guys, ever since the last update, I've gotten "Failed to load DLL (Error code -7), game will not launch" every time I've tried to load the game. I've tried verifying files, logging out of steam and reloading, reinstalling the game, restarting my computer, checking installation folders, etc. Nothing has worked and it was working before the update. Any ideas?

I found a workaround if you have Wintermute DLC.
From your Steam Library
> Right click The Long Dark
> Manage > Browse Local Files

Head to: TheLongDark\tld_dlc\wintermute
Run the tld.exe as Admin

[Game? More like Grift.]

I also reported this a few days ago. What OS are you on out of curiosity? I just check the logs for any errors but the game says diddly. Posting the logs on my original report just in case the devs finally check in. Despite everything looking normal.

Windows 10 still. Was getting error code 7 then tried running the DLC exe, and seems to be running okay so far.

I meant OP, I kinda guessed you were on Windows since you provided a Windows solution. That said the problem is cross platform hence why I'm asking OP what OS they are on. Remember the game is for 3 major OS's. If the OP is on MacOS then the three of us will cover the whole spectrum.

*Update today...see if it fixes things...nope.

Hinterland is looking into it, issue with Wwise audio by the looks of it.

Yeah I'm on windows 10. Still having the issue today. :\ Hopefully they fix it soon.

I haven't heard back from them since yesterday but they are normally on top of things. I notified them that the issue is affecting Win users as well so we'll see what they cook up.
