First, you have to give more information, since there are a number of things that could cause it.

What are your system specs? OS/CPU/GPU/RAM ?
Desktop or laptop? (Laptops have a tendency to switch back to using an integrated chipset instead of a dedicated GPU, and the chipset may not be up to system requirements)
Are your redistributables up to date if you are running Windows?
Are all of your hardware drivers up to date?
Have you tried running game file integtrity verification through Steam yet?
If you are using Linux, are you using WINE or Proton?
Can you hear any audio from the game, or is it just a dead black screen?
Are you having issues in any other games, particularly Unity 3D games?
Are you getting any error or warnings showing on screen before or after?
Any errors noted in your system events logs?

A little more info, at least system specs, so things can be narrowed down a bit...

These steps will help to rule out some common issues that can interfere with the game. If you continue to have difficulty please let us know and if possible, include your system specs (CPU, Operating System, Graphics Card)
