Game too bright outdoors and too dark indoors.
I tried to set the brightness level to be as balanced as possible.
Nevertheless, the snow open areas seem to be too bright (I know that can happen IRL), but at same time the indoor areas are too dark even at midday and the building having a lot of windows. That's completely unrealistic.
A real building with 2 medium sizes windows at midday would be very well lit.

Please tweak this issue.
Thank you.

Not the same issue.
The guy in that topic is saying "pitch black", not my case.

For me its dark, but I can still see the inside of houses, but it is really hard to identify objects.

I have the same issue. if i set brightness for outside to about 104, then inside is very dark to the point of uselessness. I have to quit and adjust brightness to about 125 to do anything inside but then it is too bright outside. I work around the issue by changing the brightness depending on in or out.

I already reported as a bug

Agreed, they destroyed a well balanced brightness system with what can only be described as a nuclear bomb explosion of brightness at midday when outside. I live in a flat land or ice and snow and it is never that bright.

Same problem here

Perhaps the easiest fix for now would be to create 2 brightness adjustments?
One for outdoor environments and another one for indoors.

For me it is currently unplayable due to this issue, specially if you play on harder game modes where you don't have matches or other light sources.
I'm having the same issue. Went into the explorable cave in FM and it's normally dark but possible to see in the dim light, but I went into it in broad daylight and it was a black screen unless I lit my lantern. According to the brightness setting screen I got when I first loaded after the update, both indoor and outdoor brightness settings were ok, but in practice, not so much. The Camp Office in ML was ok through it was noticeably darker at midday then it would normally be.

This is a big problem for higher difficulties where you don't have matches and lanterns fuel to just throw away. Especially custom challenges where the amount of some items is limited.

Exactly, and the play mode I most enjoy is survival in interloper difficulty. Cannot spend matches there.

Update: Car interiors are way too dark when i have brightness set for outdoors at 104

The most annoying this about this game is the lack of graphical configurations. Developers setting a certain look can have problems as we all are aware. I see this issue often with Unity based games. They aren't built by default to allow users to edit graphics settings. Such a shame.

You can adjust the graphic settings, you just can't do it while a game is active, you have to be in the main menu, which wouldn't be a big problem, but if you're far from a save point, and can't afford to waste an hour to pass time and trigger a save, you're screwed. I still can't understand why Hinterland won't just have an autosave trigger on quitting and label it "save and quit" there's no logic behind that. You find you need to fix a graphic setting, but are far away from a place where you can drop a save? Too bad, you're just going to have to lose all that progress and be forced to save scum to make that adjustment! Makes no sense and adding a save function to quitting would take a single line of code to trigger the save function.

1 month checking....

Does anyone knows if this got fixed?
I would really like to install the game again, but I can't play while this problem persists.

No word from the devs that I'm aware of. However, they did announce the new survival mode update coming soon and said it would include bug fixes as well as new features, so maybe check in again after that's released.

yes it is fixed since 1.62
