Funnily enough, I can run the game at 55-60+ fps, on custom Medium/High settings, on a 740 GT. Which never goes above 50°C. As long as I turn off SSAO, completely. SSAO on, and my GPU heats up. Try turning it off, or down.

Unreal Engine 4 and Cry engine, and my GPU cries and overheats in 10 minutes, on Low settings. You can customize your settings to find the combination that gives you a good balance of quality and performance. The straight defualt settings may not play well with your particular build. Which is why we have the ability to customize them to suit our particular rigs. In this and many other games these days.

to solve this very very dumb issue i had to UNDERCLOCK my card from its factory 1975mhz to about 1800mhz. still get 90 fps but no DUMB overheat from whatever is happening on Unity.

as a HEAVY consumer of highend computer gear and software, this Temp problem is the achilles heal of this game. otherwise love the product

i understand its not at all the devs fault, its the company that makes Unity, same with UE4 and CryEngine in that sense.. I ahve a pretty good system, am able to even run Red engine 2 REALLY well. but i underclocked my gtx to 1655mhz and the game is stable at 165F -170F on passive watercooling. i like to run a lot lower than the 185-190 max because things tend to last a bit longer. im still pull 80-100 fps EASILY with EVERYTHING MAX on UHD res on this game now. which is not any different than the card running at 2025mhz.
