Dialog with Grey Mother
The Technical Issue Moved Discussion has been frozen and I can't get this to the Dev's. I really would like to interact with the Grey Mother but when I click on the dialog Trust - More etc. I just get the blank stares from the characters. I have no sound (I have since found that it is supposed to be written dialog) or written dialog at the bottom of the screen. I have simply followed the instructions in the journal to fill her firewood box and I assume I have done it since it no longer has a prompt of how much is in there. I did get a list of items (rabbit, mushrooms, etc) to give her and I have given what I have found. I get no feed back as to if she trusts me or not. I need information to continue my game. I am running Linux (Mint) and it is running fine except for the above. Any suggestions?

Keep giving her things till new dialog prompts appear. Or check your journal to see your current trust level

The problem is I get nothing written (dialog) ever!!! I only get the menu's to choose from for the dialog that I don't get! I've watched other players and see that they get a written dialog after the intro in sound from Will talking to Grey mother. After that it is only the menu and nothing written....I have no story from Grey mother as to what has happened. When I choose others? I get nothing from her in writting. I plan on continuing to give her stuff but I get no feed back from anything that I have given her so far to see any kind of trust established. It is a bit frustrating.

Ah this sounds like a graphical rendering issue with the text :P

Have you tried changing your resolution? (It's not resolution probably but I've had issues with Linux rendering text in games before)

Yes this is indeed a problem for me too, but does others have sound when you chat with Grey Mother? For me it's just a cutscene of both characters moving with their animation and only the dialogue appearing in the bottom. Very odd from devs such as Hinterland since they're putting much effort into sounds and voices in this game.

EDIT: Oh nevermind we seem to face two different "problems", yours is truly odd indeed and urgent - but still why come there be no voice when you chat with her?

I had a similar issue. There was no cut scene when I entered her house, and no dialog options whne I look at her. I've got some description in the Journal on what to do, but no way to interact.

"Some old Gamer" told me to verify the integrity of game files which helped me to get the cut scenes and was able to get most everything done in order to get out of Milton. Just a thought.

That's a good tip. I keep forgetting to do that periodically. I've got a glitch in episode 2 I may try that on
