More locations for the Trader?
I think the inclusion of the guy is super cool- but it's really restrictive that he can ONLY be traded with at Coastal Highway. That is a massive amount of travel just to trade with a man if you're living in any other region.

I guess it wouldn't make sense for him to be able to go to most locations in the game, but I feel like anywhere along the coastline should be reachable for him? Like Desolation Point, Coastal Highway, Bleak Inlet, maybe other places?

Desolation point would make it easier to trade batteries, (maybe too easy ?). It was kind of fun/challeging to transport the extra batteries from there.
Bleak Inlet would make a lot of sense.
And I wouldn't mind if another region was slightly modified to include a sea shore and trader access.

Yeah, like the airfield?

It's a little weird you can't live in the new regions and play the trader game.

Oh yeah, there's nowhere up there along the coast is there?

You can seemingly talk to the guy from anywhere, but it's rough you can only trade with him in one very specific spot.

Oh yeah!! Modifying some regions for sea access would be cool! That would basically be anywhere that's not in the middle of the world map.
I mean, once you start talking to him and getting his story, you kinda know why that's the spot.

I suppose that seems interesting and all- but it's pretty awkward gameplay wise.
I mean, the trader is meant to be a 'nice to have' supplement, not a 'need to have' thing.

I suppose so, yeah?

Though I feel like if he was contained to like, the coastline that could both make sense, and still be sparse enough to make the regions feel special.

Though, I guess they already kinda do with beachcombing and ocean specific fishes?

Would have been nice to be able to do a little Tales, a little trader, a little something else, rather kind of have to focus on some task first.

+1. I wish I could have the trader in Bleak Inlet, really like this region despite the cold, it is very sunny. Maybe Desolation point too, both regions could use a buff. Coastal Highway was already top tier.

The issue is, I have trouble seeing how they would implement this. Let's see...

First, where to add a somewhat coherent little harbour for Surtherland to reach the trading box. It gotta be close to the land and the sea. Plus the trading box can't be too close to a radio (It cannot be too close to dangerous wildlife too).
For Bleak Inlet, a trading box near the lighthouse may fit everything perfectly, a little harbour is already there too (maybe it is more coherent on the other side but there is a pack now).
For Desolation Point, there isn't a radio there, maybe we keep it that way. If we add a radio, I'd put it on top of the lighthouse, can't be at the Hibernia Processing, where I'd put to the box.

Second, you gotta tell Sutherland where the trade will happen, lock the other boxes to prevent problems.

Third, optional, maybe add a time penalty for making him move to another region? Idk, doesn't seem like he stays around anyway.

Fourth, the aurora frequency. It's stupid high in Bleak Inlet. Though I don't think this is unbalanced. You can force an aurora by finisihing a trade to initiate another.

Actually, it's not that hard to implement, maybe this is relevant for a next QoL update.

Yes please on all of this!

As it is now it was interesting- once. I was very lucky that my 3 stocked bunkers were in PV, TWM and AC and I had found them all before starting in with Sutherland. I very quickly tired of doing the 5 trades -even though I had killed bear almost on top of the trade box it was a considerable pain to back and forth to the radio. Been there done that and I would not do it again on any future runs.
