New features remind me this is a hard game
One thing about this game is still true: you learn by dying from your mistakes.

I finally played a game with Cougar on. Right about when I thought I had it figured out, I died from blood loss from a cougar attack.

My first cougar encounter ended up with me dead and having NO clue what happened. Kitty roughed me up pretty good, but I managed to kill him. I did what the game wanted, bandaged and disinfected. There were no further actions requested from the game. And I died from blood loss during my "recuperative" sleep. Ended my run, left me THOROUGHLY confused as to what happened.

Yep, just a good run to messing around with the cougar. Learned my lesson about not taking them as seriously as I should!
Yeah, need to sleep in small increments until lacerations fully healed and keep plenty of bandages and antiseptic to hand. Very tricky affliction to recover from.

I did 5 one hour sleeps -no problems ,no new bleeding-went to two hours and died.

Oh, my blood loss was because I was very actively being destroyed like a cat toy.

As long as this thread is moved to a spoiler discussion (for whatever reason. I think the community forum mods are a little heavy handed) then I'll mention that the new wildlife patterns at TWM have killed me twice as well.

The thread was moved to the Tales From The Far Territory DLC subforum because you opened with a thread topic involving DLC only content:

The cougar is not part of the base game, and thread topics about the cougar could be confusing or lead to spoilers or annoyance for people who do not have the DLC.

Does that help explain why your thread was moved to the correct subforum?

Please remember that Wintermute topics belong in the Wintermute subforum, and Tales From The Far Territory topics belong in the Tales From The Far Territory subforum, topics about bugs or technical issues belong in the Technical Issues subforum, and so on.

And yes, I understand that some gamers dislike moderation of any kind. There are posted and published Steam Online Conduct Rules. Rules and Guidelines For Steam: Discussions, Reviews, and User Generated Content and Rules and Guidelines for the TLD Forums on Steam, all of which are enforced on these forums, all of which you agree to follow by creating a Steam Account as outlined in the SSA/TOS and by using these forums.
