Recycled Can Recipes

When I examined what can be cooked using a recycled can the game showed Acorn Bannock and Bannock. It just takes a little longer than using a skillet. Okay, works for me.

When trying to use a recycled can to make bannock, what I was presented with were an entry for herbal tea (I had one so it could presumably be heated up) and entries for Last Resort and Vagabond soup. No bannock.

Since I was cooking bannock at the time in the skillet, so had the ingredients, and was going to use the recycled can to make more in parallel I was a bit peeved that it was not possible and other things (I had traded for Last Resort and Vagabond recipes) were.

I reported the anomaly and I am sure the devs will get on this once they dig themselves out from under the mountain of bug reports that greeted them after the holidays and have had a chance to fix the more egregious ones than this one.

It's not an anomaly. If you actually look at the mouse over and what it says when you look at those recipes, it is 'No Tool Required."

You can cook bannock straight on a cook surface with no pan. Select the Place option, then the Hand icon, which is No Tool.

Thank you for pointing out what I obviously missed.

I got into a one-track mind there. Looking at it with a more open mind, given your pointing it out, I can see that what I had concluded was a strange symbol for a "recycled can" was something entirely different. Funny how something staring right in your face gets brushed aside because "I know it is for recycled cans".

Oh, I get it. Took me a while to figure it out myself. I assumed it was for cooking in a can too, initially.
