Stumbling around into the fire?
So I made it to the rabbit area but by the time I skin a rabbit and put it by the fire I'm launching myself into it. How do you get more health when the other stuff is full? Like I am warming up and ate the candy bar but now stumble around like a drunk into the fire. Why?

Ok I managed to stumble my way to a town but everything is pitch black. How do you do anything?
10/10 for stumbling around blind simulator.
Once you're below 10% health, you'll start having a stumbling issue. Try resting in a bed (with full meters) to restore condition. If you're playing in Wintermute, you can always reload a save before you got yourself in a situation below 10%.

One can use an Emergency Stim which would give something like +20% condition though the drawback is that when the stimulant effect wears off the character would be exhausted. The condition increase should take the character out of the "you're in imminent danger of dying" state.

I think there were some [recipe?] foods that give a condition buff which might help if they were on hand.

They posted in the Wintermute subforum, and this sounds like the bunny/pond area in Episode 1. So they won't have Frontier Cooking, and they'll only have the Stim if they packed the First Aid kit into the plane and have found it and gotten the contents out of it. And it restores 15% HP immediately, not 20%. But you're right about the exhaustion after it wears off- and that can hit hard if you're already low condition and not somewhere safe to sleep it off. But it is an option for an emergency like this.

Like a lot of times, I didn't notice which forum they had posted in. :steamfacepalm:

Darn, I did pack it but haven't found that after the crash. I'm stumbling around freezing after meeting the old lady. I understand the draw of the challenge but the stumbling is insane.

It's been a long time since I played Wintermute, but IIRC, if you packed the First Aid Kit at the hangar, it will be somewhere on the ground up around the crashed plane. But I don't remember exactly where it's sitting. And if you are at the area where you learn how to stun bunnies and harvest/cook them and are already below 10% HP, you aren't likely to have enough co-ordination and HP left to try to go back and get it. Probably best to start over and try again, and guard your health more closely the second time around. I don't remember when the game saves, but I think you have at least 1 save at the starting cave you should be able to reload and start from instead of going all the way back to the very start at the Jackrabbit hangar. And if you met the Grey Mother- why aren't you warming up by her eternal fire? The game makes it seem like you need to rush, but you don't. Recover health at Grey Ma's place before heading out on her first quests.
I'm currently stuck upstairs since I cannot see anything at all and can't find the stairs back down as I am stumbling around. Lol this game.....I wasn't able to figure out how to make a fire at the very very beginning and caught myself on fire with the plane trying to light a stick. There should be a pop-up about hitting 4. Probably a good idea to start over. I never did figure out how to make a tea.
