Note: this it not for the story mode, only for the DLC - Tales from the Far Territories and Sutherland's Tale. In the story mode I think you just have to be patient, an aurora will eventually trigger sooner or later.
Sorry, I didn't post, but I'm playing in story mode.
Don't worry too much about food as your items won't carry on to the enxt chapter this time.
If you have very limited food, then you can try to reload a save at the start of the night and just pass time to see if an aurora triggers.
Thanks for the reply! :)
Try sleeping during the day and be awake at night, or sleep in intervals of 1-2 hours, as auroras can trigger any moment during the nights or even just before sunrise.
I also tried intermittent sleep with hourly wake ups, but nothing.. :(
What else might be important:
The current main mission: Renewed Hope
Only one side mission is active: Mystery Lake Supply Caches
Pass time at night, sleep during the day, it shouldn't be that long...
How many days have you waited ?
Success! :)
After 3 days the Aurora was published... In the meantime I went hunting for deer, roasted meat and boiled water... :)
Thanks again to all of you for your help! :)
Especially if you want to take your time, I suggest doing the side quest called The Lost Cave early, the reward will benefit you the rest of the episode !
