Stupid plank in the way during prison escape

I'm playing Episode 4 and for the life of me, I can't move that stupid plank that's blocking my escape from Mathis and his cronies. The interaction indicator shows up when I look at it, but nothing happens when I click my mouse button.

OK for anyone else running into bugs during the prison escape, you'll have to reload a save point from before you enter the prison for the last time and try again. I went through the whole spiel again and got the plank to move this time. This whole escape sequence is STILL bugged.

Thanks for looking into it. The only way I found this solution was to go to the discussions and perform a search. Others where having issues as well, although not at the same point as my particular situation. A reload of a save before I entered the prison worked the first time I tried it.

Any update on this? I see this issue all over the forums but people seem to be able to get there once they reload from a saved point.
I've done this episode to full completion once but when i checked back in some time later after an update my saved data had gone. I've now redone the episode and hit the plank not moving to allow me to escape when fleeing the warden's office. I've tried reloading from a previous point and restarting the entire episode again. Reported multiple times to Hinterland and I get no response. Such a shame I love this game and don't want to stop playing.

as for 08/23 this bug still there. and this is very annoying

Jan 22 2024. The plank works fine, but as I climb down the hole left by it, exactly 1 second later I'm faced by a closed off gate which should be open. I'm stuck there. Tried everything, even reloading before the Donner episode begins, multiple times. I'm at a loss.....

I had the same problem what i ended up doing was reloading my save before I went back to the prison. went to that gate and opened it beforehand and then resumed as normal.

I have no idea if opening the gate is required to fix it or just reloading my save did it. But it did work in my case.

I just finished EP4 today and experience same bug, where i use the native Linux build. I had to load older save/checkpoint before i can move the plank.

Just reporting that as of today - June 27 2024 - bug is still there. I had to load an older save before the plank would move.

It seems that the developers have given up on fixing this problem. Reloading a Save and going through the whole section again up to that point is the only way to get around it.

So two and a half years ago, the developers said they were going to fix this bug, and it's still there. I can't get off the fire escape. Thanks.
