Maybe it's been fixed by now, but I ran into a bug where water placed into containers would disappear when taken back out. So you may want to manually place your water down in bottles in the guard house.
And yeah, the wolves are unusually bad in this chapter. They seemed much more sensitive to scent than I remember. There's plenty of man-made food around and no need to dry intestines or craft anything, so my advice is don't travel anywhere with meat or intestines. Eat meat on the spot or just leave it.
the clothes being taken definitely feels on purpose like you wouldn't think about it so i just rolled with it i can probably find a new coat and i will from now on walk in naked with nothing, also thanks for the free advice i didn't know wolves could smell that stuff
