Crafting Recipes in Story Mode

I know that recipes are unlocked by sidequests. Can I make a moose cloak in chapter 2 or no? I don't want to waste time and resources hunting a moose if I can't and will just make another wolf coat.

IIRC, no, so don't waste your time or resources.

You can't. No Moose in Episodes 1, 2 or 3.

Ok thank you everyone. Is the recipe for a bear skin coat available or should I just go for a 2nd wolf coat.

I don't think you can craft a bearskin coat in the three episodes that are available. Maybe there will be in the final two episodes.

Ah, ok. I am half way through episode 2 on my first time playing for quite a few years so I didn't know. I guess time to go wolf hunting again.

It's good that we can play Story Mode in a similar way to playing Survival mode, surviving as long as possible. I played Episode 1 and 2 on repeat that way a few times. But it didn't do much for me, and doesn't change the linearity of Wintermute. Things are still going to happen the way the narrative is scripted for them to happen,and the lack of permadeath in Wintermute makes it a bit pointless, IMHO. The story progression is still going to progress in the same way, nothing you do will change that.
But if you find it enjoyable, have at, and have fun. Just know the bear is still going to get you, one way or another. :)

I know I have everything I can craft and a stockpile of rabbit and deer pelts as well as gut at the lake camp. I just wanted to check before I hunted for more wolf pelts.
