Neat helpful "trick" for playing Episode 4 - spoilers

Hello all, we're back to The Long Dark!

I had a hunch about something during playing Episode 4, which ended up working out, and this might be old news for everyone (I move significantly slower than the majority of the gaming world, lol). And obviously, spoilers abound:

During the first part of this Episode, you're tasked with tracking down medical supplies. Along the way, you might have gone on diversions (like I did) and picked up a bunch of extra gear and goods. Then ultimately you have to return to the prison. Before I walked back through the main doors of the prison, I thought to myself: you know, if the game designers are consistent with the story, this means they'll likely frisk me down and take all of my stuff.

But what if, before I ended the mission, I stashed all my stuff - the bullets and weapons, food, tools, that neat Mackinaw jacket, etc - in a nearby locker. And hope that it would be there if, later in the game, I get kicked back out into the wilderness? So I stashed *everything* I had into that wooden coal bin storage thing right outside the little gatehouse with the wood stove, which has the door back out into the wilderness. And wearing only my boxers, went through the front doors of the prison and triggered the cinematic.

Long story short, sure enough, you're asked to go back out into the wilderness. I went to my stash, and everything was there.

And to confirm - I tested it by doing it the other way, just ending the mission with all my stuff. When I got kicked back out into the wilderness, all the stuff I had collected was gone. So if you don't stash your stuff before ending part 1, they will take all of your stuff.

It's 'old news' for another reason: the game specifically advises you to hide your stuff when you first return with the medicine... but at least you also came up with it yourself, I had to be told by the game :P
