Spoiler question about episode 4 involving items.

What sort of items do the prisoners confiscate? It doesn't exactly give you a list, so I've dumped everything in containers in the gate house except my clothes and water, as I don't want to lose anything. If anyone knows what's safe to keep on you it'd be great if you could make a list, thanks!

They take clothing you have scavenged, as I experienced the first time I went back (next time I left, I no longer had the coat that I had found, my new thermal underwear, and the other clothing I was wearing so I just rolled back a save). Not sure about water. Now I take off all clothes when returning except the clothing I know for certain I started the game with (Mackenzie's boots, his specific sweater etc.)

yeah i saved beforehand and they took my hats, jackets and gloves, they left all my other clothing for whatever reason, so i just reloaded made sure i went back with none of that stuff

You don't really need anything inside the prison so it works out ok. And now I have a little nest stocked with some supplies so it's all good.

I wanted to test this out a bit, so kept some water and rocks in my inventory when coming back for the first time. Looks like they really take everything but the starting clothes, even my water and rocks were gone once back out!

Kinda funny too though, with Mackenzie complaining in the cinematic about freezing and not being even given a coat, then I just march to the car and pull on 2 layers of coats and a bunny hat and mittens
