If it's any consolation. there is a similar quest in episode 3 but the game let's you remove items, probably in response to complaints about this. However, this is not possible in episode 1.
They could own the game on another platform. Also, this is not the first time someone has complained about being unable to remove items from the fridge and woodbox in episode 1.
Now i can't get any food because i placed the food of whole milton in this fridge
i'll just go to the climb spot and pray to not starve to death....
That seems a bit dramatic. Kill a couple of rabbits. You'll find food in the transition zone before the next area, and then even more food in the next region. You'll be fine.
And Wintermute Story mode is not permadeath like Survival or Challenge Modes- you cannot die. If you do, you respawn in Wintermute, and get to try again.
Wintermute is scripted (you are following a scripted Story), so in Episode 2 your encounters with The Old Bear are scripted, they will happen when they are supposed to, and you cannot avoid them, but you can reload an earlier autosave, checkpoint save or manual save you have made yourself, and try again if they go badly.
