Ending after shooting the bear??

Maybe this is a stupid question - or I might be stupid, but I just got the end credits after traveling to a new area, going through a cave, and shooting a bear that was attacking a man outside of the cave. After that I got to the menu, where I could choose the story or multiplayer, etc.
Am I misunderstandig something here? As far as I can tell I have the full game and not just a beta version. I also purposedly waited for the game to not only be "early access". Is it divided into chapters, so that I need to buy more, like dlcs for a couple of chapters, or what is going on?
I love this game and have spent 10 hours on it already, exploring and making side quests, etc., so I was a bit sad when I suddenly got the credits out of nowhere :-(

That's the ending of episode 1. Click resume and episode 2 will launch. The remaining episodes will be released later, but you won't pay for them.

Its a confusing way to end episode one. I also think its bad. Like how every mission of metal gear solid 5 had opening credits. That just annoyed me and foretold me what was going to happen in the mission. Worse than here, where its at the end. But it makes you think that thats the end when the credits roll. It also doesnt suggest to keep playing, its kind of feels like the game ends there..

It's also just a weirdly abrupt transition; there's no cinematic of Will coming out of the tunnel and seeing it go down, so it's just A: exit the tunnel, B: suddenly in the middle of a snowy field and some dude is getting mauled by a bear. It's poor storytelling.

Thank you for the replies! I also think it's very confusing that it is so abrupt! But now I know that I should just click "resume" - sort of weird that they didn't say that anywhere, that I could continue the game. I just thought it was done and that was that..

And multiplayer - I think I meant the non-story part, sorry, was tired and confused :-P
