Where are the darn fuses?
I've seen a couple of threads for people who have found them and where to put them but I can't find them, I'm out of light (torch ran out of battery and I only have 2 flares left) - I just want to get out of this hell hole. Where are the fuses? :,(

Don't have an answer but wanted to add this was the spot that I stopped playing Episode 3. I'll pick it up later to finish the episode but this particular segment is not in the vein of the game's theme of wilderness survival. It's more of a tedious puzzle.
Yes! I feel like I've swapped over to playing Resident Evil at this point with waves of wolves coming at me and now this frustration...

Perfect analogy.

Ehm, I dont see the issue - jsut explore all paths around - fuses are in fuses box, usualy some water around has short circuit effect. This whole area around elevator is for 5-10 min. real time max. Even though one flare should be comfortably enough you can still use the flashlight that works indifinetely as there is aurora going at this stage (may need some time for recharge) - if you did not brought one, pretty sure one is somewhere laying in the mine. Or make fire and torches, or just use matches.. I carried about 200 at the end..

What is puzzling about it?

And btw - it is very end of episode.

1. Climb on a sloped plank near the elevator.
2. Search the cave system behind it - you should quickly come across locked gate; if you click on it, you will learn that you need bolt cutters.
3. In a nearby pool (on a rock, actually), there is a dead body with bolt cutters next to him.
4. Once you get through the gate by using the bolt cutters, you will find a fuse box on a wall that isn't burned out. Inside, you will find a working fuse. When you remove it, you'll notice that electricity stopped working in that section of the map.
5. Continue exploring to find two more fuse boxes and to get the good fuses out of them.
6. I personally had the most problems figuring out how to get to a fuse box that was on an elevated wooden platform right next to a big red tool box - there's a relatively easy to overlook hole through which you need to crawl.
7. If you still can't figure it out, I suggest you draw a little map.

Part of the puzzle is also to realize in what order do you need to turn the bad fuse boxes ON, because whenever you fix a broken fuse box, you are activating electricity nearby, which may block you from getting to where you need to get.

The issue is this segment is totally out of character with the rest of the game.

I have all 3 fuses and have spent at least an hour trying to figure out how to end this episode. SO annoying. Im sure it will be like "oh, duh" once I figure it out but the end of this episode is not fun.

I wandered and wandered and wandered - overloaded and tired - my bedroll on the other side of the collapse... At the time I really didn't know what I was doing. Some verbal cues from Astrid would have helped, such as, "Hmmm, I need to find a replacement fuse to put in here," or "Ah ha! A replacement fuse - now to find a blown out circuit box." Figured it out eventually, though. In hindsight I should have taken all the extra stuff weighing me down and left it in the elevator before I went fuse hunting.

What took me the longest was finding the last box which of course was really the first box, in the one place I never bothered to check.

Which was where?

I don't understand. I have all the three fuses. Two of which I've place boxes nearest to the elevator. I have tried the remaining fuse in each of the three remaining boxes without success, 2/3 as it stands.

Nothing has ever blocked me from anything, so I don't know what you mean. Do you still remember the right order to put the fuses? Are you sure there is a right or wrong order at all? Is my 2/3 somehow wrong?

I left my sleeping bag at the beginning of the tunnel, don't care for going back if even possible. So I'm getting sleepy and my bags heavy because of that....

♥♥♥♥ part of the episode.

Bad part of the episode.

Sorry, you're reviving a months old thread. No, I don't remember the right order, nor am I sure you need a specific order, but the obvious "issue" is that when you put a fuse into a fuse box, that box starts conducting electricity to the nearby area, so if there are any dangling cables nearby, they will block your progress.

I'd recommend reloading a CHECKPOINT SAVE - there should be one at the moment when you departed the Community Hall for the final section, so you'll lose perhaps 1 hour of progress at most.

Easy peasy I just forget that there was third burned fuse/sixth fuse box just before the elevator.

But my sleeping bag is MIA now. Hope there's a mattress store right beginning of chapter four before the zombies come (just kidding).

*******SPOILER******
Put the replacement fuses in the 3 boxes nearest the elevator, one on top, one coming into elevator area (right outside front of elevator) and the last one is around the corner to the left as you come into the elevator room, go left turn corner to left and go across some boards and that is the last one.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
