Need help finishing snare quest

Disclaimer: i have never succeed in snaring anything in this game
i have read the wiki and i know the need for 12 hour for it to become "active" and the need for the map to load as the "trigger" for the snare catch test if i got anything or become ruined.
So currently i'm holing myself in the milton church with 4 traps at the pond clearing behind it, i use the quickload to load the map to see if i catch anything the next day at least 10 times. Then i went on the next day, quickload the map 10 times with the test, and still nothing.

Am i doing something wrong? i'm tired with this ♥♥♥♥♥♥ game stalling quest, there's not even any rabbit spawning anymore for some reason

Hello. When i was doing that part of the quest, it took me about 2-3 days. I set up 6 traps just to make sure. Also are you in the area where the quest takes place? I set up the traps the farmhouse and workbench shack (in that area). This is for ep 1 correct?

yes it's for the epi 1 milton,
how do you go during the 2-3 days?

Hello. During those period, i gather or chop woods, hunt wolves or get them to hunt deer and then hunt the wolves, or run back to starting house (old lady in the house). Also cook water to pass time sometimes. the first time i did this, i was little frustrated too. but it seems if you dont check up everyday, just check back in 2-3 days or so, you get the update.

I even tried to set the snares in front of the rabbits while crotch or study ahead to see where they will hop to, where they will run. Anyways, at the time (earlier this year) i just set up the traps and more or less waited 2-3 days while running around doing other things. Time seems to go by faster that way.

Some other folks will have different outcome and insights/info.

ah okay, there seem to be a stackable chance increase as times passed by
i already done what i've wante to do in milton so i guess i'll just sleep em off

FYI, you don't have to complete that objective in Ep1, you can carry it to Ep2 and finish it there.
