Calling it, Methuselah is (Most Probably) a Ghost/Guardian Angel-ish

WARNING: SILLY THEORY INCOMING, AS WELL AS MINOR SPOILERS

Now, I know the Long Dark mostly sticks to realism, but I get MAJOR spectral vibes out of Methuselah. I don't think he needs to worry about surviving any time soon.
For one thing, Methuselah's trading card refers to him as "Will's conscience", and he shares his name with both one of the oldest trees, and one of the oldest people recorded in the Hebrew Bible (as far as I'll go bringing religion into the Long Dark).
The fact that he appears out of nowhere in the middle of the Aurora to warn Will of what may happen in the future, coupled with how he claims he's "seen this happen before", tells me that he's been around longer than any person naturally should. I have a big feeling that we might only meet this fellow during nights of the Aurora, in isolated areas.
I know it seems like a stretch to think Methuselah is a ghost of sorts, but it wouldn't be that world-breaking, in my opinion. In his situation, Will probably needs someone to converse with comfortably, and Methuselah would probably be Will's worries (or a ghost watching over him) speaking with him. I don't know, what do you guys think? One thing's for sure, we haven't seen the last of this guy.

Hello. Try using a flare gun. Its funny. He lights up lol. All of his campfire are magical, wind has no effect on it, blizzards etc, nothing effects his special campfire. Maybe he is a Canadian time traveler. He always has coffee (expect at the hydra dam). Really, the flare gun lights him up like a pine tree/holiday xmas tree. Have to hit him at a certain spot thou lol.
