Deerskin pants
I got a pair of deerskin patns for being a good boy. I thought long and hard about keeping them, but it just didn't seem worth the 2kg weight vs. the combat pants + cargo pants I already had. Anyone else find it too warm on story mode? On 'loper I'd definitely have kept them (but then again, I'd have extra carrying capacity because I'd be using a bow instead of a rifle).

yup. But on the plus side. ive found its their way of making you learn about clothing balance. You dont always need the best of the best to survive. maybe you want some lighter weight gear to travel faster and carry more. its a decision, not an oblication to wear the best.

Can always harvest it for skins to give to Jeremiah I guess...

I just went deerskin + combat pants, im trying to go for max warmth, figure that gives me more ability to be out and about and find new versions of whatever things I have to leave behind to deal with the weight between episodes. Long as I keep my bearings I can even travel in blizzards.

In sandbox, I'm used to playing on Inerloper, so normal for me to be freezing some or all of the time. To me it seems like I could probably drop 1/2 my clothes and still not have to worry too much about the cold (compared with what I'm used to). Sounds like we're on our way to PV though where the blizzards run wild, so leaving the deerskin behind may end up hurting me. we'll see...

By the end of Ep 2, I had dropped half my clothes, considering the stuff I had found. Was still trompin around in two pants though... combat pants under snow pants. Simply because I couldn't bring myself to leave either behind, as they're both gold. I also lugged the deerskin pants along with me. Figure between the three, maybe I'll end up still having a pair of good pants by the time we get back to Will's story.

Relative to Sandbox weather in Story is a "Caribbean Beach" - I just use wool gloves, running shoes and cargo pants most time. Warm and light. :)

I should have screen shot my cabits i used as homes. wow were they a total mess. I basically looted everything that i could and hoarded it back at my homes. As for clothes. i was going best of the best, until i realised i was starting to become too heavy and needed to lighten my load on a few items.

situational gear started to become a thing. but mostly i just lugged around in my best cause i was being lazy..

Might be fun to replay story mode naked...
