Aurora vs. Moon phase

Someone mentioned that aurora finally appeared during full moon. Could someone who has auroras happening regularly write what moon phase did they get it (most recently)?

I'm one of the unfortunate ones who have no auroras at all (after the first few which were scripted), and want to know whether this is bad luck, bad timing, or a bug.
