[Spoiler/Guide] Equipment Locations

[Zunami]

I figured, since we're all on here trying to find this or that, we might want to pool our knowledge and report some locations of equipment into one thread.

This will be edited to update list when I have time.

Bedrolls:
1st Bedroll (since patch) found in the first cave that is mandatory to travel through (tunnel-like cave), right by the entrance.
2nd Bedroll is found inside the Gas-station in Milton.
3rd Bedroll was found in a Cave after climbing down to leave the Milton area.
4th Bedroll in Camp Office (Mystery Lake)

Lantern:
1st Lantern I discovered was in the Gas-station in Milton.
2nd Lantern I found in the Barker Farm (Paradise-something-farm)
3rd Lantern in (TBA)
(there are many Lanterns in this game, they're not rare at all past first Episode, so I might stop logging these).

Hatchet:
1st Hatchet I found was in the tool-box behind Grey-Mother's House.
2nd Hatchet sometimes (random) found at the Barker Farm.
2nd Hatchet I found was in the Camping-Office by Mystery Lake, next to the down-stairs stove.
3rd hatchet found by unspecified body w. deposit key in Milton area (Unconfirmed - likely random)

Knife:
1st Knife found by dead body near Milton Radio Tower (must have been added by a patch it seems - it doesn't appear random, but was not there on my first two attempts).
2nd Knife found in (possibly 2nd?) hut on/by Mystery Lake (So far confirmed by 3 people, though not by myself).


Whetstone:
1st Whetstone I found was given to me by Grey-Mother. A dialogue option didn't become available to me, to ask about sharpening, until after I exhausted my "metal shard".

Prybar:
1st Prybar found in Grey-mother's toolbox.
2nd Prybar found in car outside gas-station (unconfirmed by myself, but confirmed by 2 others).

Faregun:
1st Flaregun is found in a secret stash in a house in Milton, and is associated with a Quest given by Gray Mother if enough Trust is earned with her.
2nd found in Carter Hydro-Electric Dam, in an orange heavy-duty box laying on a buttom shelf.

Magnifying Glass:
1st Found in one of the safe-boxes in Milton Bank - I do not recall which one.
2nd Mangifying glass found in Cabin #1 (Mystery Lake)

Tools (Simple):
1st Found in Milton Gas-station.

Tools (Advanced):
None found so far.

Hacksaw:
None found so far.

Sewing Kits:
1st Sewing Kit found in a backpack in the first cave you travel through, but apart from the first one, I've found dozens of them and refuse to keep track of this particular item.

Mountaineering Ropes:
1st found in trunk in Grey Mother's house (part of story, I recommend not getting it before time, even if that was possible).
2nd found in supply crate by destroyed forestry lookout in Mystery Lake.

Fire Striker
1st Striker is found in Cabin #1 (Mystery Lake) - unconfirmed by myself, but confirmed by several people here.

Rifle Cleaning Kit:
(Supposedly part of the story)

Rifle:
(I am aware that obtaining a rifle is part of the story)

Rifle Rounds (as per request):
I'll report locations as people note them.

1 Bullet found in Barker Farm mailbox (random?)
1 Bullet found in Forestry Lookout (Mystery Lake).
1 Bullet found in Carter Dam (Mystery Lake), but I cannot recall where in the building.
6 bullets found in Cabin #1 (Mystery Lake).
11 bulllets found in the Hunter's Lodge (Broken Railroad) - "One box next to rifle cleaning kit (& rifle), and then downstairs in the basement, there's another box (on shelf) and a single bullet (on/near desk)" NOTE: The bullets may actually be upstairs - spawn location could be random inside the house.

Special Item locations (non-tool/equipment related):

Mountaineering Boots - Grey Mother trust reward.

Insulated Boots - Cabin #1 (Mystery Lake)

Military Pants - Cainb #2 (Mystery Lake)

Military Coat - Forge (Forlorn Muskeg) in a locker.

Combat Boots - Bank Manager's House (Milton) - if I'm not mistaken.

Knife was reported in Millton near radio tower, another hatchet was found by body that has a boxkey. Others have reported that loot may be somewhat randon.

I can tell you that I did NOT find a knife by the radio-tower, and I did also not find an extra hatchet by any of the deposit keys.
This appears to have been random, but I'll list them as unconfirmed maybe's so far.

Hunting Knife:
I found one in the second fishing hut out on Mystery Lake (I have a wierd feeling that they spawn randomly among the scattered huts)

Rifle cleaning kit:
More or less part of the story. Same area where you find your first rifle if I remember right.

Thanks, I'll list these - I'll list the knife as a Maybe until I can confirm.

I also found a Hunting Knife in one of the fishing huts. FIrst rifle cleaning kit is on a bench directly in front of the fireplace in the Hunting Lodge (next to ammo); I've found a second one in a container somewhere, since then.

Maybe ammo would be a handy item to track? I've been hoarding my few bullets like mad in anticipation of the bear questline.

Just found a knife, also like Moromali in 2nd fishing hut on mystery lake

That second prybar might have come from the trunk of the car in front of the gas station. I think that's where I found one.

If you need re-start Episode 2 all this loot vanished - so don't bother in became over encumbered in Episode 1. :)

Added an ammo-tracker as well, and reported the two measly bullets I've found so far.
With so many people confirming the knife, I've added it.

There are 11? bullets in the Hunting Lodge in BR. One box next to rifle cleaning kit (& rifle), and then downstairs in the basement, there's another box (on shelf) and a single bullet (on/near desk).

I already added this as I saw you note it down in a separate forum post, but you do appear to be the only one on this forum who has found a knife there.
I can personally deconfirm the location of a knife there in my own playthrough.
I've added it as a possible random-spawn though.

What is "BR"? I'm not very far in the game yet.
I'll add the entry once I know the location.

Missed that, sorry. I was mostly just adding that its also mentioned on the hinterlands forum on their spoiler thread. Does seem rare though.
