I can't get enough food for me to eat + fill grandma's fridge
Have you got any tips about this? I'm roaming the town looking for food, but I must eat as well. It's taking ages to get to 10.000 at the fridge.

There are two dead deers around the places. Look for the crows. I gathered the meat from one and killed a wolf that aggroed me and that was enough to fill it. Don't put 'normal food' in it. Wolves keep spawning so it's endless food.
Just give her some cat's tail stalks. They're easy to find and they're a life safer when you've got nothing.

OMG.. I put a lot of normal food (food I found in houses). Wolves always fight, and they run and die somewhere far. But gonna try this one. Didn't think about cat's tails.

You dont necessarily have to stay full all the time. Let's say for instance you were at full hp and had no food, it will still take you over 4 in game days to die from dmg you are taking from starving.
its easy to raid the gas station then everyhouse and put all your food in their besides u can always find more later

There was not that much food at the gas station. I'm almost done by now, the number is 9000 + on the fridge.
did you check all the houses you can enter in the town they have a decent amount

The gas station alone has like 6000 calories worth of food in it...

I overfilled it - check with granny to make sure you haven't already given her enough!
on the fridge it tells you how full your are if your full the fridge will no longer show numbers and it will give a mission update journal

There is a TONNE of food in Milton.
You don't even need to touch the gas station, or enter a single home. Harvest a couple rabbits, a few deer carcasses, and turn in some of the MREs from the caches and you're good to go.

I put entire rabbit carcasses in along with wolf and deer meat, plus some cooked tea at the end. Not sure if the rabbit carcasses helped with the 'trust' level or not, but it was already above 50 when I first clicked it to give her some of the items. Bunnies just take a stone though, and were a lot less stressful to collect.

Hey what caches? I can't even find the one near the church.

Keep your eyes peeled for what looks like military style ammunition containers, orange and rusty looking. Not really a way to help there besides just straight up looking at a picture of where its at. Go for it if that's your thing but personally it kinda defeats the purpose. It's a hidden stash of supplies after all, if they werent tricky to spot then it wouldnt be hidden =)

I have also had trouble with filling up the old lady's fridge; probably a result of the fact that I didn't start with her tasks right away but instead went around exploring and foraging. Presently I have some 3000 calories in her fridge, though probably I will have to use them sooner or later. On the plus-side I have a ton of coffee and tea, which probably adds another 1000+ calories.

There was a bit of a storm one day and I wasn't able to hunt for a while, forcing me to use up at least a day's supplies. I can generally knock out 2-3 rabbits in a day. 3-4 rabbits seem to be sufficient to last a day, depending on the payoff. The food in the cave-cache and gas-station are more or less finished at this point, perhaps a few hundred calories left of them. Rabbits take a long time before they respawn and sometimes I only see 1-2 of them, so I go in a circle harvesting them. The days when I see only 1 rabbit means that other food have to fill in for the loss.

I've also driven deer into the hunting zones of wolves, but generally the reward is meagre; 1-1.5 kilo of meat left when I get there. At this point I have probably taken most of the cat-tails that I am aware of, they are good as extra filler if wildlife hasn't shown up sufficiently. Since wolves hunt and finish off rabbits at times, I am often forced to move to the next zone to find new rabbits. I have some 8 rabbit traps around where I know rabbits tread (footprints and known rabbit trails), though so far 100% of my rabbits are caught by throwing stones.

I have had some wolf-meat at a few times, though perhaps I should hunt them more specifically. I have plenty of bandages and medical equipment so more wolf-meat on the menu might help to gain a surplus.
