Is Milton a fictional town or is it more of a real thing?
I looked it up, but it sounds like the way the lady is talking is that maybe she's part of the First Nations? I'm not sure. Can someone shed some light onto if it's real or not? The Collapse? I have lots of questions.

Milton is a town in Southern Ontario, Canada, and part of the Halton Region in the Greater Toronto Area.

I'm not sure why the play it off as Northern Canada, thoguh I am sure their are other Miltons across Canada, but the one near Toronto is the most well known.

There happen to be towns named Milton, but this town is entirely fictional and any similarities are purely coincidence.

what Willkwi said! haha and i dont know also why they say northern canada seeing as how there isnt much in the northern part of Canada (they dont call it the Great White North for nothing). the entire series (story and survival) are completely fictional and it all takes place on a big ass island called Great Bear Island.
