Can the rifle be found in Stalker difficulty?

Ive been playing for a couple hours now and i decided to start on the hardest difficulty but i see everyone else who plays the game they all have rifles thanks

There are 4 potential normal locations to find a rifle on Mystic, 1 on Highway:

Note: They do not always spawn and rarely spawn more than a couple rifles in any play through across all potential locations.

Mystic:
Downstairs at the hydron dam leaned against a wall kind of under the broken window (it's on the ground floor).
The trapper's house on the wall.
The lookout tower on the wall.
The derailed train in on the floor inside the train car.

Highway:
Abandoned lookout tower on the wall.

The abandoned tower is tricky to find - it's up the hill from the town. There's a loop road that runs a big circle up and around - it's in the middle of the loop, no road/path to it, you have to cut down to it from up near the top road area.

I thought the rifle was common. Found it on my second time to the observation tower along with boxes of ammo from within the dam. Have cooked lots of venison and melted snow for water. I love this game.

On highway it seems to spawn a lot in the fishing hut between Misanthrope and Jackrabbit island. I also found one in the house on jackrabbit island (in the bedroom leaning agains the wall I believe).

I'm under the impression that the rifle spawns at 3 random locations every game.
