go to the Dam.. past it on the RR tracks is a tunnel.. follow it.. tada! your there.
EDIT: Oh, be warned.. you start in a very cold place..... with not a lot of 'real estate' around.
Before I leave Mystery Lake, is there any place I should check? I've gone from Trapper's homestead to the Lake Office to the dam and made out with a lot of medical supplies, a rifle with 21 bullet(after subtracting the ones used for hunting), a bunch of food and drink, wood, and matches.
I also killed Fluffy, which scared the crap outta me when I went down the stairs to the hall, couldn't see, and just fired one shot in the dark. It was pretty sweet if you ask me.
I never migrate. But I never go for long plays..
I migrated simply to do it once.. now I stay in place until I decide to die.
My only advice is... if you have a stock of good stuff... dont leave until you have it used up. its going to decay while your gone, and probably to much to carry...
Can you go back to Mystery Lake?
That bunker can be a mystery....
I ve died a few times just looking for it... normally knowing I shouldnt but not caring.
But once you do find it.. its usually good for the effort.
But thats me.. I dont do the hibernate live thing...
I do like to set up and go for a bit, but not with that one.
I'd imagine an ideal location for the bunker would be in the center or at least between a few good locations for scavenging.
Does Coastal Highway have anything like that?
best place i've seen on CH side of the map is the gas station/garage in "coastal town". It's pretty big with plenty of things to store stuff in and its somewhat near the center of Coastal Highway. I loved it as a base.
As far as I know, there are no bumkers in Coastal Hiway, and have plenty of bandages and hydrogen peroxide, lots of wolves.
And have you cracked the safes at Trappers and the Dam, wouldnt leave before I did
Live long and Prosper
