Carry Capacity
Is there some way to increase the weight you can have in your pack without being encumbered?

Nope. Except reducing fatigue/hunger/whatnot. If anything, we should be restricted to volume (we aren't atm), but there's always going to be a hard weight cap.

nope. Only can lose weight ability due to injury, illness or fatgue.
reason: In real life.. which granted its a game, but they are trying for some balance.. you cant instantly begin carrying 40 lbs more than you could yesterday. But you can indeed suffer from being burdened.

Yes.. but i mean you can buy better backpacks and i would REALLY LOVE to have the ability to pour jerry cans into each other, ditto with lamp oil

No ... and looking at the picture you're already carrying some pretty decent ~80+l backpack ... something like ~150+l backpacks simply don't exist for various reasons ...

You can already "overfill" your backpack by quite a lot. It just slows you down the more you carry, and eventually you'll be unable to move (I think around 50-60kg, cant remember). Even 30kg would get tiresome carrying around a cold wildneress. Imagine trudging through that snow with so much weight on your back.

30 KG is a large amount to be carrying. Best solution, and most realistic, is to limit what you carry. Ok so you have your clothes, let's say that's 4-6 kg. Grab a snack or two and half a liter of water and matches. Beyond that it's up to the point of your journey. Are you looking for firewood? Grab an axe. Hunting? A rifle or bow along with ammunition should do the trick. General food scavenging or simply scavenging I'd suggest the clothing, food and drink (not too much) and a hunting knife or axe for self-defense. Should have at least 15 KG free with this. Should be close to 20 KG though.

My complaint on this topic is that your not actually carrying 30 kg. Mine is set to lbs, so the limit without being over is 66 lbs but 20+ lbs is clothes that I'm wearing. And they already effect you if you look in the clothing menu. So clothes that are not in your backpack should not effect backpack weight.

Either way I think that 66 lbs is a little light. Especially if you've carried that 66lbs everyday for over a month or however long, it would feel like nothing compared to the first time you carried it. It should increase with your skill level.

I actualy consider the max carrying capacity to be 40kg...since you can sprint up to that weight. Not as far, but typically far enough. If you are in such a dire situation the little entra bit of sprint probably wouldn't save you either (and calls for a stim). Just can't climb a rope...which is a super human feat to do even at 30kg...heck even at nothing but the clothes on your back. I've climbed my share of ropes, but some of the distances in game are dizzying to think about.

Sandbox mode, right?

Ya get to the top, take a breather. Grab the rope to start hauling your idk 50 pounds of pack hand over hand.

Just then, the only NPC you will ever see in Sandbox runs up, yells, "NINJA that sit !" and you, sir, are kaput.

Also, there's no way in some fantastical TLD real universe you would EVER separate yourself from your gear like that.

In the entire history of mankind on Earth, and throwing in all spiritual/extraterrestrial visitors, etc., leaving your life at the end of a rope you just climbed up is so completely dumb it would make the top 10 of dumbest ♥♥♥♥ imaginable...so dumb they don't even make it an option.

Snag on a branch, knot slip, hello? And I've done some weightlifting in my time. You think just hand over handing up, we'll go with a 45 pound plate as a comparable weight. You're going to haul that ♥♥♥♥ up a hundred feet? With no issues? It's rather nice of them to let us climb with 30kg on our back in game, and I can accept that by assuming we're not free climbing that rope.

Free climbing a rope is hard. Very hard. No one does that without training and being in excellent shape.
