Deerskin Pants - Can't Complete!
I started on a pair of Deerskin pants (my first crafted clothing item) and put 4 hours of work into them. Afterwards, I dropped the partially completed item on the floor, went outside, came back later to resume work.

I put the partially completed pants in inventory and when I select the crafting table there are two deerskin pants options - one for new, another for continuing work. But when I try to continue work on the existing pair by clicking "begin" it doesn't work - it is looking for the raw materials in inventory. There is no other button than "begin". I have the sewing kit in possession as well.

How do I resume work on a partially complete item? Is there some sort of trick or is this a bug?

I know what happens to you, You puted some items you use for crafting the pant in a cabinet or anywhere. Just take some cured Guts and Deerskin in your inventory and a sewing kit. click on the desired hours for crafting and that will be proceeded. sorry for my english

You mention it's looking for raw materials in your inventory... do you still have said raw materials in your inventory as well? As you work on crafted items longer and longer at the workbench they use up the materials in your inventory. Crafting doesn't use up all of the required materials at once.

That did it - this is very confusing. Why not just consume all materials up front? You can't start unless you have everything. THANKS!

I think it makes more sense this way. Imaging you use all materials up the moment you start to make something, that is weild. Plus you can use the rest of the materials to do something else then collect supplements to finish your work later.

This does remain me that if I won't use up the materials when I start to craft something, why do I need all the stuffs to start it?

Exactly - it needs to be one way or the other. I think for simplicity sake just consuming everything up front makes sense. i certainly wouldn't have been confused.
