Can You Eat Snow?

So... yet another sale noob here. On my most recent playthrough (1 day 22 hours) I pretty much died of dehydration. Well, not exactly, I actually froze to death. But I was forced outside in critically low condition to search for drink when I should've stayed inside to warm up. In just under two days I had found a whopping 10+ cans of food (and two MRE's!), a decent amount of wood, two almost full lanterns, and good clothing. And yet, I could barely find any cans of soda. So, any logical person would just eat the snow, right?

Well, apparently I couldn't. Or at least I couldn't figure out how. Pretty infuriating to be totally set up with food and die because I can't drink the endless amounts of water around me.

So, can you eat the snow? Am I doing something wrong? Any help would be appreciated.

You need to melt the snow at an oven or campfire. You can then boil it to purify it (or risk dysentery by drinking unsafe water).

Thank you? But how do I collect snow to boil?

Your character does it automatically. No need to collect -- just go to a campfire or stove and click the "melt snow" button after selecting how much you want to melt.

You can't eat snow, but if you had that much wood, you could of started a fire, melted snow, then boiled water and that gives you Potable Water. When you get to the Coastal Region Spoiler there is plenty of water, soda over there down near the Coast Road ~ Look in a toilet) So you will be fine. But if you have wood, you have water, even if it means stepping outside the door to light one quickly.

Thanks again! I feel like such a noob lol. I prolly would've quit this game if I couldn't drink snow :P
