Tinder?

My current life has been alive for about a week, and i've been doing excelently until now. I have run out of tinder. I can't cook my food and I am starving because of it. I have scoured the area looking for newspaper and stuff but i've looted it all. Is there a way to get tinder another way? I can't see myself lasting a day longer without it.

Foraging for wood will sometimes yield tinderplugs, as well as frozen corpses.

I think I've used up all the tinder in the game, my hatchets are all gone and haven't found any tinder off any of the bodies. I think the lesson I've learned is to very seldom make fires and make them burn for a while to cook and boil a lot and to save tinder. Because thats the only reason I died was because I couldn't find tinder. I think its stupid that you can't use cloth as tinder, but I'm sure that'll be changed soon.

only make big fires, i cook a lot of meat and melt snow at one time, so you dont have to make fire that often.

so there really is a finite ammount of time you can survive then because eventually you will run out of tinder

you can just get tinder by foraging you dont need a hatchet for it, 2 -3 hours is more chance than one i always get at least 4 tinder every second time.

I thought you needed a hatched to forage for wood, another inevitable thing seems to be the rifle breaking. Fir wood is hard to find, I think I've only found 4 in any given play through.

Fir wood is not hard to find, for me. I don't know if location matter. But, I get plenty fir wood.
But, it doesn't really matter on hatched or rifle or fir wood.
The problem is on matches and glass and firestricker.
You can always get woods and tinder. And you don't need a rifle to get meat.
But in the end you will run out of matches and the metal to repair firestiker.
Then you will not be able to start a fire. Then, you will die on dehydration.
I can live without hatchet and rifle. But matches is the key point.
And, I don't know if someone have come up with a way to live without matches, firestiker, magnifying glass.

just eat raw meat and save/load...... im glad when the game more often make autosaves

yeah thats the biggest problem and i would not play like this but some ppl who survived for 100 + days just made as much water as the could before their matches are out.

I'm kind of excited to see what updates come out for this game, hopefully multiplayer. Imagine trying to see how long you can survive and how sad you will be when you friend dies and their frozen lifeless corpse is lying in the bed next to you as you spent so many resources to try to keep them alive. But your efforts weren't good enough and you regrettably find you've used up most of your resources for nothing and you don't have much time left. You are left with a decision; die cold, starving, dehydrated, and lonely next to your friend. Struggle to find the few remaining resources around mystery lake, or expend one last round from your rifle to use on yourself.
