Is it possible to get more that 1 rifle?
was wondering so that way i can keep 1 stored and 1 in use

yes, its possible. on pilgrim mode a found 3 rifles. all 3 i got in my inventory. harvested later..

I picked up two in one run, one from trappers and one from the hill top watch tower in Mystery Lake. Bit of a waste in my opinion, would have rather had more ammo.

i found two in pleasant valley on the hardest setting and a third in ML. Harvested two of them.

yeah, you can get more than one rifle. The spawns are random, and I have had as many as three in one game. You really only need one though. Unless the one you find is ridiculously low quality %, you are unlikely to find enough ammo to break it before you run out of bullets. Even if you do have a ton of ammo, you can always repair the rifle you have.

I found 4 on my current run, and I haven't even explored Highway yet.

And sometimes you find none, like in my current run in Mystery Lake. 31 rounds so far, but no rifle. Fortunately, it doesn't matter as I'm trying Silent Hunter. The 8 deer carcasses I've found so far help a lot with that. Just moved to Coastal Highway, so maybe I'll find a rifle there for use after 50 days.

Aye, found 3 rifles too. Also trying get Pacifist ? achievement... well, the one where must not kill anything. Hm... I have more than 50 days, and didn`t shot the rifle, so didn`t kill, Silent hunter achievement I received. But also I should had and the pacifist, isn`t so? Or fishing counts as killing? well, technically yes, but some clarification would be nice to know - what not to do if you dont want spoil the achievement.

Yeah. much to my surprise I found one in a car on pleasant valley, which I don't normally, and then a second in the usual place, the farmhouse's office
