Running slowly on Mac - Advice Please :)
Would love to play this game...switched graphics to absolute minimum, mac is fully updated, not running program in the background, even have it in window view instead of full screen but the game is still quite laggy and slow, particularly when in crowded indoor areas or when events such as snowstorms/attacks are happening.

Specs for my mac:
2.6 GHz 6-Core Intel Core i7
Radeon Pro 555X 4 GB
Intel UHD Graphics 630 1536 MB
16 GB 2400 MHz DDR4

I have already followed the basic guidelines posted in the technical issues thread.

I know it is probably my GPU, please forgive me I don't know that much about GPUs and computers...

The game is really more CPU-bound than GPU-bound.
First, make sure the game is using your dedicated GPU instead of the integrated intel UHD chipset.

MAC has its own issues with the game- OS specific. I don;t run MAC, any flavor, but my husband does. With some of the latest updates, he has found that he needs to set a launch option for the game -disable-postprocess , and the game runs more smoothly with fewer problems with fps spiking and microhitching.

I can't say if this will work for you or not, but it is something to try.

You don't own a licence for the game here on Steam, so I can't tell if you are playing on a copy from GoG or Epic Games, or if you are playing a Steam copy via family sharing- the method to add the launch option will vary depending on what launcher is being used for the game.

Could you elaborate on how to make sure the game is using my dedicated GPU?

No. Like I said in my first post, I don;t run MAC, in any flavor. I could walk you through it on any Windows OS version or on a number of Linux Distros- but I don't use a MAC. So I have no idea how to check which is being used on your machine.

You need to ask someone who actually games on a MAC.

Gotcha. Thank you for the help :)

First make sure you running the game of the dedicated video card and not the intel ones.

Second try lowering the rez to 1600x900, even though your card has 4GB vram, it is not very powerful and is not optimized for gaming - is a workstation version where the calculations needed for 3d graphics is not very good. And at this point is near obsolete. ( for comparison, the card is as powerful as GeForce GTX 285 or Radeon HD 5850 - this are cards that came out 2008! 16 yeatrs ago!

Instead of torturing your self with this, try to upgrade to a small dedicated desktop system, second hand ryzen 3600, 16 gig of ram, and gtx 1070 or rtx 2060 and nice SSD will make the game fly on full hd.
