Moving workbenches

My home base in the farmhouse in pleasant valley. The workbench is in the basement. Is there any way I can move it upstairs or break down another one in the valley and build it upstairs?

yes but iirc you need woodworking tools to rebuild it, and a hacksaw to break it down.

Yes you can harvest it which will give you scrap metal + a workbench vice (required to build another)
But prior to doing that, you should :
- find the woodworking tools (only 3 in the world at fixed locations)
- Build a furniture workbench
- And then build a workbench
Note that harvesting a workbench gives you scrap metal but building one require cedar wood.

There are a few useless workbench in the world: those in mines, or the duplicates from the dam or the quonset garage.

In the FA hangar I was able to move the basement workbench up to the ground floor, but there is no transition screen when entering/exiting the basement. In the PV farmhouse is a transition screen and you cannot pass it while moving the workbench. So the only option is to rebuild one where you need it.

Considering there are a couple of places where workbench is outdoors (forlorn muskeg, pleasant valleny), is there any way to build workbench outdoors? I guess not, but better to ask.

Technically the safehouse customization area in the little outdoor Maintenance Yard office area in Broken Railroad counts as outdoors for the purpose of cabin fever at least, but other than that, no. It would be nice though

This, also you can't build a new one without breaking another down, the vice is required and the new furniture workbench too. You can build one of those just about anywhere with the woodworking tools and some cedar.

I didn't know that area DOESN'T count for cabin fever, thanks! Looks like I should definitely rebuild a bench there!
