I placed the 3 boxes I built in:
- Pleasant Valley at the semi-outdoor entrance area of the Farmstead House. I also built the furniture workbench there, as it allows to work there during clear nights.
- Camp Office - ML and
- Quonset Garage - CH.
The last 2 are great for curing fish meat. The easiest to maintain is the one Coastal Highway, as you have direct access to salt deposits. I am not aware of sources of salt in PV or ML.
Yes, they do seem to renew, but I don't know the exact timing (my deposits in DP were harvestable again after around a month when I went back to grab some stashed loot at the Lighthouse). I haven't looked hard for where every deposit is, so there may be more in DP and CH that I haven't found yet along the edges of the coastal rocks, and I would imagine that there are going to be some in BI and the OIC near the ocean's edge as well. Maybe in other mines too, but I haven't checked them all yet. Kinda doubtful they'll be found in inland (freshwater) locations, but until we all check *everywhere* , who knows?
Voyageur, was a bag in MT Orca gas station.
Can confirm there were salt pillars in BI beneath the cannery.
I have all the bags of salt, bottles of salt, other traded Frontier Cooking ingredients, fir, cedar, and reclaimed wood that I have been accumulating stored in that house as well.
I have a problem with my travois periodically going to ruin while in inventory so I would rather not depend on dragging bags of salt hither and yon for now.
