Random dead wolves?
I was walking back from the dam when I saw a deer and what looked like a black blob laying over dead. I couldn't believe my eyes as I saw a dead wolf next to the deer. I thought it was one that I tried to kill before that got it's hands on a deer before it passed, but I wasn't sure. I got up to the head lake cabin and I saw another dead wolf, and I had only fought 1 off at this point in my game. Any suggestion to why this happened?

Interesting. In all my playing time, I have only once come across a wolf I was fairly sure I hadn't killed (in CH, on the ice). I found that quite thrilling at the time, thinking, "is there something out here other than me that kills wolves?"

Perhaps it got to close to a bear? I've never personally seen this possibility since wolves typically whimper away from bears, but maybe if it blundered into the bear's agro range?

Well actually I saw a bear and a wolf eating from the same deer carcass once.
The only thought I had was
" THEY HAVE BONDED "
