Never Ending Blizzards
I know we're in a hella cold area where blizzards and snow storms are common. But honestly, doesn't it seem a bit too common as of right now? It seems I can only get out maybe 3-4 hours a day, because of how often and long these blizzards last.

It feels something like this: Wake up, blizzard. Afternoon? Blizzard. Late evening- "Gogogo quick-". 3 Hours of daylight left... blizzard.

I'm all for the weather changing and keeping it real. But I feel like I could count the exact cracks on my cabin roof by now, lol. I hope they work on this, truly.

(And for those who might say that it's expected of the area: ...That's great. It is. But I want a bit more survival in the survival game and less 'Sleep Through Another Storm' Stimulator.)

Agreed! Also hate how fast you get tired and the new running sucks too

They did this because people said they wanted the elements to be more a threat, not the wolves. It does seem to be a bit over the top, but whatever challenge they throw at me, I roll with it.

I agree with you JErosion. Sleeping for short durations can also help to manage fatigue, I've found.

OP, don't believe the ??? on the clock. Always verify bad weather by taking a look outside. I've posted a thread about this and had a moderator comment that it was forwarded to the tech team to look at, because I've see so many instantaneous weather changes just by stepping outside that I don't trust the ??? anymore. If it is bad, sleep an hour and check it again, but whatever happens always check outside. Many times it may still be windy, but clear or just snow flurries.

^^^ Agree with this 100%. Always, always go outside and see how things look (and feel). Plenty of times lately I've seen "???" and heard terrible wind howling...and I go outside and it's sunny, not windy enough to matter, and plenty warm enough for me to head out exploring.

I just expereinced what OP is talking about. All day long sounded like an absolutely horrible blizzard outside and I went out and it was sunny, 7C, no wind, and just snowflakes. It sounded like bad wind. So how could it have changed in 4 seconds?

How about when you get up early and head outside, and the weather is nice and clear an the sun is just starting to rise, and just as your character mentions about surviving another day, the weather goes into full blown blizzard. I thought it was just random bad luck for me but after watching other people's lets play video's, i guess it's not that rare.

I've also noticed how ??? does'nt match what i find when i step out to see just how bad it is.

I get that a lot, now I always step outside to check, about half the time, on exiting the building, it is fairly calm out, if not utterly calm.

I like this game, but the 15 min blizzards keep pushing me away. I want to play a game, not read a book while waiting for the blizzard to stop

all fine random is random its a good thing, maybe hinterland should make an other easy casual mode with shorter blizzards for some ppl..

really you can have a game where you in 50 days not have a single long blizzard and you can have a game where you have 3 long blizzards in the first days... so its RANDOM. RANDOM IS GOOD.

but yes always look outside... but for me the sound indoors always fitted to the weather so far.

I'm wondering how long you've been playing the game. Before the most recent update that added. Desolation Point, the weather model was quite different, with blizzards happening so often and developing so quickly it was often difficult to avoid being caught out in one if you were trying to travel someplace. The current model is much better now as it is more stable, and I am thankful for the change.

Yup. +1

For me, (current run is 14 days on Normal) I only get Blizzards when I'm on a long trek where I can't afford it. Short hunting trip? fine. Short stick hunt? fine. Long walk to anywhere? BLIZZARDS ALL DAY EVERY DAY

I think some of it depends on your map (PV definitely has more blizzards than ML).

Try watching the sky and the temperatures -- I think those are your best predictors of weather. The only thing I have not run into lately are the infamous multi-day blizzards (I think Hinterlands may have gotten rid of those).

Plan your treks so you also have a go-to location if things start to get dicey.

The game is watching you. If you are willing to stay out in the weather, it will bring you some weather to stay out in. enjoy
