Where are bears located in PV?

I want to craft myself a bearskin bedroll, but I've only killed one bear by the farmstead house. I believe before there was one at the barn? Which I'd only have to kill one more right now for a bearskin bedroll. Is there one typically at the barn? Thanks!

You mean the red barn over the river from the farmstead? There is one walking around behind the red barn, where the many Birch trees & two ruined cabins are.

Yes, I ment the red barn xD My apologizes. I believed he was there, but wanted to double check. Thank you so much! Where are the Birch trees at? Like...near-by anyways of rememberence? And I forget where the cabins are o_o

There's a bear cave to the south of the farmstead from the main entrance, it's right at the bottom of the map. Alternatively you can exit through the back door with the porch that faces towards the road. Cross the road just to the right of the bridge and down slight hill on the other side. There's usually one lurking around there.

If you approach the read barn from the road, go past and over the slight elevation behind it. From there you will see the Birch trees a bit further and to the right. You can easily see them in clear weather, as they all have white trunks. If you look towards the left from the elevation, there is a ruined green barn. The two ruined cabins are hidden in the Birch trees. The bear seems to be travelling between the cabins and the green barn mostly.

Bear also walks by the farmhouse on a fairly regular basis -that's how I have killed them all in PV since you can shoot from the porch or by the car.

Grab some birch bark tinder when you are over in the birch grove as well

Bears has large territories. And PV can spawn multiple bears at once. anywhere that has a cave along the border mountain can spawn a bear, the area east of the barn aroudn the brich forest can and so can the area on to the west of the farmhouse

Had a bear come right up to my door on CH today. I had just left the house for a little adventure. Went back in, grabbed my rifle, came out and shot him once in the face...then sprinted the 10 feet to the door.

Even though it was so close, he still almost got me. I saw my condition drop to 65% as the screen began to load the house interior, but no health problems and no clothing damage.

There's also a Bear cave W of Skeeter's Ridge along the valley wall. You have to go SW to Burned Ridge Cave, then W through the pass and N a bit to reach it. This bear usually hangs out between it's cave and the Hunter's Blind to the N of it. Or you could just go NW from the northernmost ruin on Skeeter's Ridge straight to the Hunter's Blind.
Perhaps this is the Bear that sometimes appears near the Red Barn too? After all, he's got to live somewhere!

I think the Farmstead Bear comes from the southernmost cave, W of Long Curve.

There's another Bear cave E of the slope that leads to the Abandoned Mine in the far NE of the map, whose occupant often spawns to the south of it's cave just before the river.

And I've also had a Bear spawn on/around Signal Hill.

There should be one that rarely spawns near the signal hut, but I've yet to run into that particular one. Most commonly ran into the one by the farmhouse and the red barn.

Well, you basically just have to stay alive and wait until the next bear spawns at the farmhouse. Usually happens on week after you killed the first one around ;-) good thing about, you don't have to carry all that meat too far.....

I was attacked by a bear in PV on my first time there!.... I can't give much info since I don't play that particular map too often, but I had just crossed a bridge of sort and there were 3 nearby houses, if that's any help! (I know it probably isn't in this god forsaken map layout aha)

Thanks guys! I more so play Mystery Lake right now, but also PV too, because more of a challenge xD I normally lurk between the Farmstead and Barn once I find materials til I decide to go onto an adventure.
