how do i craft arrowheads. i have scrap metal but no option to craft the heads at the workstation anymore

Just what I needed-Am at the Riken, have gathered coal, wood and scrap-know I have to heat forge with wood then add coal-assume at that point a menu will appear to guide me further?

Once the temperature is high enough (250ish?) it will let you craft.

270 F and you will need the hammer too. 7 or 8 pieces of coal to get the temp up but you can find 5 or 6 laying around the Riken. Good luck.

Worked well-heat furnace to temp to start coal-will prompt you-add coal to get above 150 and hammer away. Have 15 arrowheads and 9 working arrows-need to collect more feathers.Thanks Again.

To forge you should consider a couple things first. How many of whatever do you want to forge. With the hacksaw metal is relativly abundant. Coal is not. How long will it take to forge all of what you want. Stack a LOT of wood near the forge. You need around 5 pieces of coal to get to temp but regular wood will hold the temp. Forge as many arrow heads as you may want in a long time. I typically make 30 and store them. 1 hour per arrowhead and MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE HAMMER. You can not forge without it.
I'm not sure why you would forge a makeshift hatchet or knife as reparing one is fairly easy. I'm sure other things will be coming. I plan on making the phased plasma rifle in the 40 watt range.

There are 2 broken arrows inside the new door in the dam at mystery lake you can salvage the heads on them - Its a shame there isnt a basic arrow head and a forged more damage version - but i guess it makes the game that much more difficult.

i think that it was a bad change, cause arrowheads can be crafted without forge... i mean, i can go out take a flint or rock or scrap metal (and the other things) and make one... i wish that arrows should be more realistic...

Unless you've done it making an arrowhead out of flint is harder than you think let alone finding the flint. Flint knapping is what its called. I would challenge people to make an arrowhead that will fly well and penetrate to a depth that would kill a deer or wolf. Now if you take a green stick and char the end that has been sharpened to a point it makes a decent arrow. No head so less damage but it would work.
Try it. Go out and without looking up on Google how, make an arrowhead and then jab it into a double thickness of cardboard box.
