What s your fav difficulty to play on ?
I took a pretty long break from the game and im about to start a new run now , i exclusively played interloper for years but rn im leaning more towards stalker tbh , i just want more toys to play with along the way , yes i know about custom mode.

Not looking to start an argument over which diff is better or which diff sucks compared to another , i dont care for that , just asking what you guys personally enjoy

I definitely prefer interloper, but at this point if I make it past the first week, I am 95% likely to make it to 100 days (as long as I don't get bored before then). That does make custom difficulties like deadman a little more interesting to me sometimes. On the rare occasion I fire up a stalker game to remind myself about all the goodies loper players don't get to play with, but I usually find I get bored super quickly.

I still find Loper a challenge and its my favorite, perhaps because I do take rather long breaks from the game. If you haven't played since maps were added, I would recommend Stalker at the highest, over loper. I like to explore new maps on Voyageur before I might randomly get transported into them in a loper start!

custom is the only way i play u can take out the aspects u dont want to deal with . this is key.

Vanilla Stalker, no custom settings, no mods.

custom - loper base settings with guns, still have to craft tools. lowered resources + loot and cabin fever turned off (because it is a stupid mechanic and i will die on that hill)

I mostly play on Interloper, though I’ve already racked up around 2000 hours of playtime.

I find Stalker has far too much loot for my taste, and the other difficulty levels... the problem is even bigger there, in my opinion. There’s so much loot that it doesn’t feel like "survival" to me. :)

Misery was a nice change of pace, but after 100 days, with full gear, 90% health, and so much food stockpiled that it’s no longer a real "problem," it just gets boring and feels "finished."

That could be worth revisiting with the current patch, since the cougar is back now!

Custom is also an option, but I’d really like "finer" settings for loot availability and similar features.

Stalker with fatigue rate set to normal. I have no idea why they set fatigue to high on any difficulty other than interloper

Difficult question, I find stalker far too easy but really struggle long term on interloper because there's no guns. For a long time I was playing on a custom difficulty that used the interloper base settings but allowed guns to spawn in the world - but then I realised that you don't get feat progress on custom difficulties - which seems mad to me, as you can earn feats playing on pilgrim

Interloper for gameplay for difficulty Misery.

A custom interloper, with guns but no regen health (and some others little things)

After 700 hours and 7 years I can say I am a casual player. I've made to day 94 once early on but that was forever and a day ago.

I usually die on day 2 or 3. I get eaten by avoiding wolves. I never freeze to death even when I basically try to freeze to death.

I wish we had a Voyageur difficulty with the cold weather challenge of Stalker or Interloper.

I used to use a mod to enable feats in custom mode back in the day, but it gets a hassle re-installing and managing that and also the personality conflict R had with the competent programmers doing work for free and leaving their code on GitHub for him was tiresome.

Voyager..
Untill i get all badges ill stay on voyager. After that ill try interloper custom with 4x time.. thats only thing i will change.
Curently i play voyager simply because weather is not stoping me to explore for most of the day. I use bow most of the time to practice (on PS5).
On loper when its worm afternoon i want use most of that time, so thats is reason i want 4x change in custom settings.
But im far from that.

Yeah I jive with that. I had several geared up interloper characters before the save reset. I haven't felt like I have had the time and motivation to start the process over again. I just wanted to experience the new regions and you can "get ready" in just a few hours on stalker which is nice.

I get the appeal for interloper in finding all the essential tools, forging, and then crafting essential clothing as the world gets colder. However, once you've done it a few times its just not as fun to spend the few dozen hours doing it. I think what gets me is the crazy amount of walking to loot places. And also waiting for bad weather to pass or for the optimal time of day. It can be kind of slow. I wish I could skip that beginning part and just experience more mid to late game interloper.

With all that said, I'm sure I'll jump back into a new run eventually

Mostly standard Interloper. With some QOL mods like fuel and water management.
Also, custom Loper with guns and scurvy off from time to time. Just to see what's available.

Interloper is the Goldilocks for me. Stalker or lower i find not challenging enough due to the overabundance of resources so i get bored too quickly and annoyed at having to manage way too much stuff since Interloper has conditioned me to only expend non-renewable resources if it's life or death.
And as for Misery, it just seems.. "a bit much".
