It is kind of punishing to use those items because you pretty much have to stay in one spot, constantly curing hides and gut for repair. Once I made thse items they were at 70% the very next day. I am repairing them at 91% repair skill and the boots need 3 deer skins? Painful.

You dont have to wear them all the time. Only when its really cold or you expect to be out overnight. Keep some of the other clothes handy in a shelter. Also I take them off at night when I sleep in a shelter. And dont use the bear sleeping bag if you are in a house with a bed. The clothes will last awhile. Unless you get attacked by a wolf or bear then its shred city.

What did you do to cause the clothes to degrade in one day-only thing that I know of that can do that is to be out in a blizzard, I can usually get a couple of weeks wear out of hide clothing before they get to the 75 to 80 % level where I feel I need to do repairs-of course if I get mauled or caught in a blizzard then I'm in the repair business-never feel comfortable making skin clothing until I have enough extra for at least 2 complete repair jobs.

Are you playing in Stalker mode? They should not drop 30% in one day in Voyager mode unless an animal attack damages your clothing. They're much more durable than normal clothing and much warmer.

Seriously ? im on Voyageur, and i craft them in ML, camp office, then i traveled at CH. coastal towncite, then to PV - Farmstead, and now im TWM, MH, the set still over 60% i just repaired the boots cause, you know, i walk a lot.

Thats weird, in 1 day my newly crafted gear has dropped 0-1 %.

You probably walked around outside in a blizzard. That damages your clothes, so avoid it.

Yeah playing in stalker mode. I had no idea going out in a blizzard would damage clothing I thought that only happened with time or wolf attack. I guess I just supposed that these clothes would be a little more hardy. I will have to avoid blizzards. Thanks for advice

Also don't sleep in your clothes. If you shoot a bear and have a ton of meat to hold you over for a few days in your safe house, you're just wasting durability points on your good clothes. Put on crappier clothing to eat and sleep in while whittling away at the giant bear meat pile. But yes, it's very worth it, especially if you plan on setting up base in PV, where the blizzards are very often.
