Honestly never measured the temperature ... but it's certainly not a huge difference ... I dunno maybe you can save 1min if the Fire is burning hotter (but not sure if that's really the case, anyway)
-> Point being it doesn't really matter ... it's always approximately 15min
90F seems to be my average on a normal fire. I do not think temp matters at all. (AS LONG as it is a full fire and not embers. Using the pills to clean the water seems to be faster then boiling it.
From embers it takes:
Two sticks to melt 0.5L.
One stick to boil it.
- or something like that. You can finish melting on embers, but not boiling - that kills the fire, and the water remains contaminated.
Sometimes the only way to survive is one stick at a time. May as well make some water while you're at it.
The minimum amount is 0.5L, so you need fuel for at least 15 minutes.
A stick can burn for 7 minutes.
Cedar for 60 minutes.
Fir for 90 minutes.
Making a fire will cost 3~5 minutes' fuel, depends on the method, don't forget this.
Yeah but snow, unlike water or ice, is an insulator thanks to all the trapped air. So while the energy to melt the water part is equivalent to ice, you must also heat the air inside and the process happens slower than for ice and with poorer efficency.
- Make all actions in real time. (melt, boil, cook, repair and craft)
- Insomnia at nights (seriously, the character sleeps like robot)
- Find bottles and container for all your water
- Be able to take a shower, wash clothes and backpack ("yay I have survived for 200 days!" - now, SNIFF YOUR BACKPACK xD)
- Be able to cure hemorrhoid
DEAL WITH IT
What if I don't have a life?
Seriously, don't you get that I'm just joking? :D
