Actually, if I wasn't backing up my save, I would be worried to lose it to this cougar.
It'll be interesting for sure. I back up my saves too so as long as the cougar isn't just over the top over powered, I should be OK.
I wonder if they will introduce any special recipes (either crafting or food) with the new animal?
So- I am not "looking forward" to it being added, but I am- also not wanting to wait much longer to being able to have my questions answered and finding out what my strategies will need to be to deal with it in different modes (Pilgrim vs. Voyageur vs. Stalker vs. Interloper). I don't expect it to be true-to-life, but I do expect it to be interesting and challenging.
FT makes sense, especially the Mountain Pass region when it is added. But I would not be happy to encounter one in any of the beginner regions- walking down the Lake Trail or going to Alan's Cave in ML and being ambushed by one would feel bad. But I would expect it TWM, AC, or HRV. Advanced and Expert maps only is what I am hoping for if it is added to the game for everyone.

Everything that's under "Free Updates" is what everyone gets regardless of whether they buy it or not. The cougar isn't under there, it's only listed above in the "paid content" area.
or would be a a case of false advertisment
what a luck for those who do not have the dlc...
Same as a few days ago.
Also...cougar? I've been afraid of it since it first appeared on a road-map for TLD back in 2017 I think. Sure it will be worth experiencing, but I don't think my survivor is going to like it.

Exactly this. The wolves in the game are in no way, shape, or form, even remotely realistic. Wolves hunt in packs. Not in TLD. One at a time. One barks, one stands and growls, the others couldn't care less. The animation when a wolf attacks you, show it gnawing on your arm. You have any idea how powerful a wolf's jaws are ? They'd crunch through your bones like they were chewing a pretzel, but all we end up with is a boo-boo. I'm not expecting the cougar to be any more realistic (although I am kinda excited to see how they're implemented and what we can do with the pelts.... I want a cougar hat, complete with tail, Davy Crockett style)
Hahahaha, that made me laugh, actually out loud.
or maybe an alternative recipe for the satchel.
The Cougar does appear that it will be DLC only content, but that doesn't mean it will only be found in the new DLC regions. All Raph has said on the online forums is that its attack is terrifying. https://hinterlandforums.com/forums/topic/44957-tales-part-five-tease/?do=findComment&comment=277240
But with all of the speculation going on in that thread, he has not confirmed or denied anything else. (My nightmare of walking down the Lake Train and being ambushed from above by a Cougar still lives on...).
I *might* be willing to hunt Cougar if I get a warm blanket out of it. *Might*.
