misery diificulty
I started a new run in misery and i think its easier than i was expected. The world starts colder like +20 days in interloper, I was expecting the max cold at 50 loper days. The heal speed and needs are pretty mutch same as loper and only the fatigue drains like stalker. I was expecting max water consumption with minimum health regen and that would mean like 20% (?) for 7 hour sleep. Wolve spawns feel like stalker but detection distanse feel like loper, i was hoping for maximum like custom deadman
I got the ''weak'' afliction in 4th day witch is -5Kg weight carry and deadlier wolf struggle but i was expecting that crap to come later in the game
Over all its a great new difficulty but i was hoping for a harder one but without the die for sure aflictions that i ve seen in youtube

Losing max carry weight seems brutal. I wonder what the other afflictions do? I might have to start a save myself and find out.

The only booring thing is too always start in the same location. You always move to the homstead and the village and hope to find matches....with them you can go to easier areas. No matches no party. Tried twice, didn't found them and already lost my interest.

As interloper it's really cold, but lot of food and water if you know how to play. Sleeping wasn't an issue either since there are a lot of beds everywhere in pleasant valley. 5 kg penality is a lot, but on the other hand you barely have something with you. I have 10 kg of water and books for example...
yea same location start suck but i found a flare in radio tower above homestead and used it to cross the cave and started fire there and got a lot of torches, waited for a blizard to pass and then i crossed winding river and searched the dam and found extra matches there. Now i m at camp office and planning to search mystery lake and then milton for heavy hammer and go forge.
I hope misery in the future to get same spawns as loper but no permament aflictions, just let them last like 20 days

the only change from interloper is the random afflictions. I am extremely disappointed that the difficulty spike is completely artificial. I was hoping for more weather events, less resources, less wildlife etc but they went with interloper with more steps instead

Besides the settings being set around loper is the afflictions which are composed of debuffs to carry weight, feels like, struggle damage, Max rest, longer recovery times, and max cal stored.
The final affliction "Broken body" is an eventual death sentence. Physical damage from struggles and falls is double and all condition recovery is disabled. Once it starts your run is on a timer. You will inevitably take some freezing damage and it will eventually add up and kill you if the double struggle damage doesn't do you in first

Currently there are following afflictions:

1. Diminished Form: ~-40% Stamina, -5 Kg, Wolf struggle more difficult.
2. Frigid Bones: Feels like Temperature -5°C, takes longer to warm up.
3. Sour Stomach: More likely to get food poisoning, Stomach Capacity ~-40%
4. Haunted Mind: Max sleep time 7h, instead of 10h (before thirst kicks in), 50% less condition from resting.
5. Rheumatic Joints: Sprains more likely, sprinting speed is reduced, aiming stamina is reduced.

Feel free to add more.

It would be cool if it were randomized, so that sometimes you slept normally, sometimes not; & when you woke prematurely, it was due to a "nightmare" (random attack cutscene). :lunar2020hearteyesrabbit:

well loper was boring after 100 days so misery will fix that for sure...

if loper is boring for you after 100 days misery is maybe nothing for you :P
loper is like "water flow in a river" misery is the same but with honey. this means slowly not much exploring.

how can you explore on day 100 allready all regions and do the dlc Oo

Once you have all 6 Misery Afflictions just getting a sprain takes away 4% of you condition. So if you have full health + well fed that's 105 divided by 4 = 26.25 so round up to 27. 27 sprains is all you can live through.
