I think you may need to rethink/rephrase that statement, given that Raph has admitted he uses mods himself it should be obvious that the devs' views on them have changed or were possibly even completely misunderstood.

Thank you for your help! This solved the problem with Pastime reading but Better bases still freezes the game when a save is loading. Tried several mod versions including the last one. Do you have any ideas?
Additional: Also I don't think they really care how you talk about mods on here, I've encouraged their use and provided links to some in the past and have not been banned, haven't even received any warnings from them for this behavior. If I was doing these things on their official forum however it'd probably be different.
It used to be their stance on mods was, Don't talk about mods. Here on the forums anyhow. Reasoning was supposedly because they were/are developing their game, and despite what should be common sense of playing with mods at one's own risk, Hinterland didn't want to deal with a flood of support requests (and complaints, lets face it) for issues from "my mod broke the game" to "game update broke my mod". It was very taboo subject; very strict, yes, but moderation was also very clear upfront on this and very effective.
And honestly, after seeing the community of Valheim players, I can sort of see why. I get a risible laugh at how entitled some can be and lack the understanding how game vs mod development works. The Long Dark forums have always been blessed as a welcoming, non toxic, Canadian safe space on the internets; and even when there have been a few arguments and debate, it was usually well thought out discussion with regards to the game. I believe this is in large part due to the clear forum guidelines and the enforcement of its moderation, what basically should be at first considered common courtesy anyhow.
Untrue - they are extremely PC, heavy-handed, humourless and the hall monitor there is very aggressive. Enter at your own risk.
