Wolves are scared of me?
Is it because of my fluffy wolf skin coat?

yeah, there is a chance to scare away wolves while wearing this coat. Same applies to the bearskin bedroll while sleeping in it :)

it is also based on difficulty... are you playing pilgrim or above? In pilgrim, wildlife will run away.

Voyageur too!

Yet only a (very small) percentage of the time. The percentage "seems" to increase if you're carrying a lit torch or flare at the same time.

I don't want to create any "urban legend" so please note that it is only speculations. But it seems to me that wolves are scared more often when my wolf skin coat is a bit worn (though it never went lower that 55% condition or so). Did you notice the same thing? (I'm playing in stalker).

i also have played on stalker for quite a while now, but never noticed any correlation.. but to be honest i havent paid much attention to the "worn-factor" yet :)

Let this be a warning to you.

I, foolishly, relied on this mechanic, thinking to myself: "Oh yeah, come at me bruh!"

Then i realised that carrying around meat was a very bad idea...

Only fresh meat from what I know
be aware that there is only a chance (!) to scare wolves away. Most of the time they will still attack you, whether you carry meat or not.

I've noticed that if you run into a pack of 3 wolves, at least one will run - never had all 3 come at me at the same time so you get time to deal with them sequentially. Haven't taken time to note when they run more often, although hinterland did confirm that if you carry raw meat you are more likely to get their attention. Overall, they seem to run maybe 20% of the time. Freaky thing is when they run and turn around while still in flight mode and run right past you, took a whiile to get used to that.
